Pondless® Streams and Waterfalls

Pondless® streams and waterfalls allow you to enjoy a beautiful, relaxing water feature without the maintenance of an ecosystem pond. The pondless® stream and waterfall is easier to install than an ecosystem pond, and requires even less maintenance than a pond or lawn. That's saying a lot, since a properly constructed ecosystem pond uses less water and is easier to maintain than a simularly sized lawn. The pondless® stream and waterfall is not only more cost effective than an ecosystem pond, but it even allows you to add a little touch of Zen to your front yard, without the safety concerns of a traditional pond.
It’s called a pondless® stream and waterfall, because there is no pool of water. The water level never pools above the level of the rock and gravel fill, giving it the appearance of a disappearing waterfall and stream. The water is captured in an underground basin, which houses the pump equipment, and is lined and filled with rock and gravel. The water is then circulated from beneath the rocks and gravel by the pump and travels through an underground pipe to the waterfall, down the stream and empties into the pondless® basin. You will still have the waterfall, stream, rocks and gravel, and aquatic plants (all of which you have with an ecosystem pond), just minus the pond and fish. Taking care of your pondless® stream and waterfall is easy. Filling the reservoir every few weeks to compensate for water loss due to evaporation is all that's required. You can also opt to install an automatic water fill valve to replace any water as it evaporates. Pondless® streams and waterfalls can be activated by an electrical switch and may also be set to run on a timer. Since you don't have any fish to worry about while you are away, there is no ecological need to run the pondless® stream and waterfall continuously.
